The Fighting of the Midge
'It's a beautiful June evening
O'er the hills the lark is calling
But a million midges murmur -
We are waiting - we are waiting!
Some years ago we accompanied our daughter on one of her University field trips in South-West Scotland.
It was a beautiful June day - except for the Midges, which swarmed in so many millions that it was difficult to see through our veils.
We had to laugh, and "The Fighting of the Midge" is Frances Grant's amusing poem about the incident.
This second edition of forty copies is 25mm x 75mm, letterpress printed on our Adana Handpress. The eight pages are sewn into card covers.
